This category holds titanium sheet, plate and round bar. Both GR2 and GR5 are offered. The material is commercially pure or alloyed Ti-6Al-4V. It resists road salt and moisture without rusting. The density is about 4.43 g/cm3, making parts roughly 45% lighter than steel equivalents.
GR5 titanium sheet and plate
This is Ti-6Al-4V, or GR5. It is the standard for machined load-bearing parts. The alloy contains about 6% aluminium and 4% vanadium. It is harder than GR2 and work-hardens if your tool rubs. You need a rigid setup, sharp tools, low cutting speeds, and plenty of coolant.
We sell these as ASTM B265 titanium plate. The pieces are 200 x 300 mm. Thickness options range from 0.5 mm to 20 mm. You can find GR5 titanium sheet and plate in these dimensions.
GR2 titanium sheet
GR2 is commercially pure titanium. It is softer and easier to form and weld. It offers very good corrosion resistance. This grade is ideal for brackets, shims, or covers where high strength is not the primary driver.
Look for GR2 titanium sheet in the same 200 x 300 mm format. Thicknesses match the GR5 plate options: 0.5, 0.6, 0.8, 1, 1.2, 1.6, 1.8, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18, and 20 mm.
Titanium round bar stock
For turned parts, we provide ASTM B348 titanium round bar. The diameters range from 1 mm to 120 mm. Lengths are available in 250 mm or 500 mm cuts. You can select GR5 titanium round bar 250 mm or GR5 titanium round bar 500 mm for high-strength applications. Choose GR2 titanium round bar 250 mm or GR2 titanium round bar 500 mm for easier machining and welding.
How to choose and machine
Pick GR5 for load-bearing components that need strength. Pick GR2 for complex shapes or welding. Always use sharp carbide tools. Keep cutting speeds low to prevent heat buildup. Titanium work-hardens quickly, so avoid rubbing. Ensure your setup is rigid to prevent deflection.
FAQ
What is the difference between GR2 and GR5?
GR2 is commercially pure titanium, which is softer and easier to weld. GR5 is Ti-6Al-4V, a stronger alloy used for load-bearing parts.
Can I get custom sizes?
Customization is available on request. Check the individual product pages for details.
