Dust caps are small but critical components that keep dirt and moisture out of the valve core. While the valve core itself seals the tire, the cap protects that seal from dirt and moisture. For car tire valve caps, the material matters more than the look. Cheap plated caps can corrode and seize onto the valve stem, making removal difficult. Titanium offers a practical alternative that resists corrosion and reduces unsprung weight.
Product Overview
Our GR5 titanium tire valve caps are manufactured from Ti-6Al-4V alloy, a material known for its strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance. Each set contains four caps, weighing just 8 grams total. The caps are available in various surface finishes, including raw titanium, black, blue, and anodized colors, allowing you to match your wheel design.
How to Choose
The caps are sold as a set of 4, one per wheel on a car. Colour finishes are chosen as a product variation.
Installation and Care
Installing these caps is straightforward. Screw them on by hand until they are snug. Do not use tools to overtighten them, as this can damage the threads or the valve core. A trace of anti-seize compound on the threads is sensible to prevent future galling, even though titanium resists corrosion better than cheap plated alternatives.
Frequently asked questions
Do titanium valve caps seal the tire?
No. The valve core inside the stem seals the tire. The cap’s job is to protect that core from dirt and moisture.
Will the caps rust?
Titanium does not rust. It is highly resistant to corrosion from road salt and moisture, making it ideal for harsh environments.
